At Eagle IT Solutions, we use ChatGPT daily to help us with our work. It’s a powered AI tool that provides valuable insights, suggestions, and ideas and helps us solve problems. It has become an essential part of our work routine, and we have come to rely on it to help us get through challenging tasks. Each of our team uses it for their daily work tasks.
Our CTO, Marija, relies on ChatGPT mostly for technical support. “I usually use it for technical questions. Instead of googling about a problem or navigating through millions of answers, I just send the question I have to ChatGPT, and 98% of the time, I get a response with a very good solution and explanation of why it’s best to solve the posed problem like that.”
Marija’s experience with ChatGPT is a common one among our team members. As software engineers, our team often faces challenging tasks that require thorough research. In such cases, they turn to ChatGPT to explain concepts the simplest way possible.
However, it’s important to note that ChatGPT is not always the final solution.
“I would say that the accuracy and reliability of the answers we get from ChatGPT depend on what question/statement the person is posing and what the person is expecting to get as a response. Sometimes we can totally rely on the answers we get from ChatGPT. Still, sometimes we need to dig deeper on the internet to fully understand something and be sure that it is accurate, especially if we are asking for something we haven’t heard about before.” Marija says.
Even though in some complicated tasks, we need more time to dig deeper on the internet to verify if the answer ChatGPT gave us is reliable, in daily tasks, this AI tool is a lifesaver when it comes to time management and doing things faster.
Our techno-wizard, Ismet recently had an experience where ChatGPT saved him a significant amount of time. “I had to extract categories from a text document and create a Python array with those categories. It is an example of a task that normally would have taken more than half an hour, but with ChatGPT, it took less than 5 minutes.”
Many AI tools are available that can help you with time-consuming tasks, but the power of ChatGPT is different. As our graphic designer, Sara, says, “The difference is that ChatGPT provides me with well-structured answers that are more suitable to enhance my work.”
Sara sees ChatGPT as a powerful tool that is here to stay, and it will be very helpful for tasks that require a lot of attention and time.
“ChatGPT is a very powerful tool that can solve many of our daily tasks that require a lot of human attention but can be solved by it in a matter of seconds. In the future, I see it as a tool that will be present in most fields of work, for effective time management, or completing more complex tasks.” – she says.
Since the release of ChatGPT on November 2022, there have been many debates about whether this AI tool will be a threat to many professions or if it’s a tool that will make everyone’s life easier. Our team sees ChatGPT more as an opportunity to improve our work rather than something to be afraid of.
This is how our front-end developer Nevena describes ChatGPT: “I think it’s an opportunity, a positive thing. Since being a developer is mostly fixing bugs, solving errors helps a lot. You write the problem, it gives you a solution, and most of the time, it is the correct solution. It saves time. But in the end, it depends on what you are using it for.”
ChatGPT has already become an essential tool for us at Eagle IT Solutions, used and seen as a positive thing. It is helping us with various technical and non-technical tasks and is improving our productivity. While it may not always provide the most accurate solutions, it can suggest ideas and give valuable insights on solving problems. We believe that AI-powered tools like ChatGPT will continue to play a significant role in the future of work.
